My son probably sarted on them around 9mo buts that's when he started solids altogether. My sisters has 3 kids and with her last one she started giving them to her at 5mo, she would bite of the hard ends.

I think it's fine and no one knows your kid but you. And if know she's ready then she's ready. I used to freak people out because my son was eating hard candy like gobstopers and pepper mints at 15 months. But I knew he was fine with them and he was, he never had a problem with them.

The social work is just used to being super critical of everything, it's her job... But you sound like a great mom :)

"OMG McDonalds!" lol these people have totally bought into everything they have ever heard on tv, it's things like "Super Size Me" and the news constantly saying "Is fast food causing obesity in our country?
