I have a question about formula? |
|
My son is now a month old & he is on simulac advance, but for a couple weeks now he has been throwing up really bad & I don't know if its the formula. He does have a tiny bit of thrush but I don't think that's why he's been spitting up so much of his bottle. What do y'all suggest I do? Should I switch his formula? I really don't want to see any comments about breastfeeding I've heard it all! A:This isnt' a breastfeeding comment - but it IS based in breastfeeding experience. When my baby had thrush he would want to nurse all the time. I have seen this in other nursing babies as well. I was told that thrush can cause a little bit of a sore throat & that causes them to want to drink more. Is it possible he is eating a bit excessively due to the thrush & then spitting due to being overfilled. I onlyy ask as I don't know how much he is taking at a feed & if his intake has increased since having the thrush.Other than that, I would suspect a tolerance issue with the formula if it's been going on since he started it OR reflux, as that sometimes takes a few weeks before it seems to start showing up. Many babies do not reflux right away, but after a few weeks it intensifies. Give this a read & see if it helps you determine if you think it's reflux or the formula. http://www.babymd.net/ger.htm Newer news items:
